In Search of Blog Times...

In advance of BlogHer, there's a sort of meme circulating. The idea - bloggers going to BlogHer interview themselves or each other, so that we can all get to know each other better before we meet face-to-face. It's called BlogMe, and it's open to anyone, and it's a great idea.

So I'd like to give it a little twist: because so few Toronto-area bloggers will be attending BlogHer, I thought that it would be cool if we could pull together a page of interviews so that I can properly introduce all of YOU while I'm at the conference, simply by referring folks to a meet-and-greet page that will link up to all of you. Which is to say, I'm tagging everyone on the blogroll at right (and any blogger mama in Southern Ontario who wishes to participate) and issuing the following guidelines:

1) Complete the interview: answer the questions below in a post sometime between now and next Thursday (I leave Friday before dawn).

2) Send me a link to the post (you can just put a comment here, if you like, or e-mail it).

3) Send me a photo (jpeg, please) of some piece of yourself. Arm, leg, ear, boobs, feet, face, whatever. Something to accompany your link and the little blurb that I'll do for each link (which will be one of your answers to the questions below.) This is not mandatory, but it will be really, really cool if most of you do it.

I'll be posting a full response from Devra from Parentopia later today, so you can check back to see how that goes. I'll do the group post (with the pics and blurbs and links) next Thursday and pimp it all weekend.

Got all of that? Good. Here is the interview (with apologies to Proust, from whom the latter half is directly borrowed, and the first half inspired):

Please answer the following if-Proust-blogged questions

What is the quality you most admire in a blogger?
What is your most marked blogging characteristic (or, how would you describe your blog)?
What is your greatest virtue as a blogger (what do you most like about your blog)?
What do you regard as the principle defect of your blog?
What character of fiction do you most wish had a blog?
What historical or real life person do you most wish had a blog?
What is your present state of blog (present state of mind as a blogger)?
What is your blog motto?

Then, select and answer the questions from the list below that you feel will most reveal the person behind the blogger, as many or as few as you like (from the original – abridged – Proust questionnaire)

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
What is your idea of earthly happiness?
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?
Who are your heroes in real life?
Who are your heroines in real life?
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?
Who are your favorite characters in history?
What historical figures do you most despise?
What is the quality you most admire in a man?
What is the quality you most admire in a woman?
What is your favorite virtue?
Who or what would you have liked to be?
Where would you like to live?
What is your most marked characteristic?
What do you most value in your friends?
What is your principle defect?
What to your mind would be the greatest of misfortunes?
What is your favorite bird?
Who are your favorite prose writers?
Who are your favorite poets?
Who are your favorite composers/musicians?
Who are your favorite painters?
Who are your heroes in real life?
What are your favorite names?
What is it you most dislike?
What natural gift would you most like to possess?
How would you like to die?
What is your present state of mind?
What is your motto?

Great idea! I think I'd like to set up interview style posts so that we don't have to post our own answers. Anyone who would like to do it in this manner please e-mail me. cmcreate at gmail dot com

I have a gateway mx6421 with windows xp I keep getting the blue death screen which does not stay up long enough for me to get an error code. I have tried to uninstall drivers remove programs and system restore and none have worked. I have tried reinstalling windows xp and it states I am running a newer version (which isn't true). I have done virus scans, disc scans and the blue screen as usual shuts the computer down. I would do a system recovery however I do not have the disc (gateway did not give them) I have tried preforming it from the D drive however once I put in the operating disc which came with the computer it makes it to 18% and the damn blue screen shuts it down. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it. I just want my computer back and my computer to stop shutting down.
