Mama Bloggers Need Love, Too

So, here's the proposal for our next TO Mama Blogger Mix-Up:

August 26th, evening: an evening of manis and/or pedis and cocktails at a central spaaaaa. Aaaaaah. The deal will be this: we each contribute around 15$ to secure the space (and catering) for ourselves (the more of us that attend, the less it will be.) Then, 40$ buys you a manicure and a martini. Other services as desired.

The fabulous TO Mama Blogger Team will make arrangements and secure a party license so that we can BYOB to supplement the martinis; catering and manicures are included in the price (which, we figure, is about on par with the per person cost of snacks and drinks over a couple of hours at a decent lounge.) It will be a delicious few hours during which we pamper ourselves and bask in wonderful company.

So, who's in? (You? YES YOU ARE!)

(Remember - ALL are welcome. This is just one of many getting-to-know-each-other events. If you're a mom - or, gasp, a dad? - and you live within easy travelling distance of the GTA and you have a blog or even just like reading blogs, you are more than welcome to join in. We'd love to meet you!)

(You can get to know some of us by reading these interviews.)

(More interview summaries are coming! The lovely Marla, and Andrea, Kirsty, and Brenda will soon be linked up and profiled and, yes - along with the other lovely interviewees - Muppeted!)

Some of you have expressed an interest in daytime activities - and as we all loooooves our babies, this kind of activity makes sense. So - shall we start tossing around ideas for a daytime activity?

Two questions to get us started:

1) Same day as Mamas' Evening Out? Or, another day? Weekday?

2) Just hangin' in a park, or an organized "activity" (i.e. visiting the Islands or Ontario Place or the Zoo or whatever?)

So I am in ... on one condition ... you give me a task to help pull this together. It is a fabulous idea and we should all pitch in. Can't wait!!

Oh and on the baby outing. I'll wait and see what unfolds and timing. I work full time during the week and my guy is the grandfather of all the kids so not every venue will be easy to sell :)

I am in as well! Not yet a blogger but a reader of many and a new mom too. Or newish mom - the little monkey is 8 months old already.

And for the day event - would prefer a different day than the evening event. A park thingy would be fine - or a destination - whatever the majority are into.

As for the day thing, I'd prefer a different day.

I'd prefer just hangin in the park.

Sounds so, so, so good. Do we have a time set up? I'll have to figure out how to plan my day - drive in and eat supper on the road? And I'll need good directions once we've got a venue. Parking hints gratefully received.

Totally in, and as Sunshine said, please let me know if I can help get it together. Do you have a location in mind?

As for daytime, we've had a few requests for a central location for the next parky outing, so I found two parks with wading pools that are quite central, if we just want to do that sort of thing. One is right by Rosedale Subway, the other a block or so from Summerhill station. I'm thinking depending on time of day, I may bring pumpkinpie along (I know!) if it's a park visit, as that is relatively easy and customary for us.

I'm so in, I'm already there.

As per daytime, I'm with metro mama - different day and hanging in the park sounds good to me.

I'm so excited (tee hee hee).

I'm so not cool.

Daytime Outing...I call Dufferin Grove...shade, park. wader, coffee and snacks. Plus a Winners in the Dufferin Mall.

Besides...ahem...being the woman who blogs who is OLD and who has OLDER children, your little ones would fulfill my pathetic cravings for yummy little one year need for a sitter.

In oldness, Anne

I think a day event on the same day as the evening spa-la-la...would be great. It'll probably make me more likely to show up to the evening thing because I'll know everyone a bit better, you know?

Plus, can you please add me to your blogroll? Because I'm a Toronto Mommy Blogger and PROUD OF IT! ;)
